Last week as part of Science Week Nursery and Reception classes did a floating and sinking experiment, this tied in with our transport topic.
The children worked in pairs to make different forms of transport out of playdough, junk modelling and mobilo.
The children had to predict whether their model would float or sink on water. They spoke about why they thought their model would float or sink.
Oskar: “My model is going to sink because it has holes in it.”
Amanda: “It floated because it is not heavy.”
