Last week was British Science Week and the whole school enjoyed taking part in so many activities, such as the live chicks in school, dressing up in science-inspired outfits and learning the experiences and skills of people who are in a science-based occupation.
One of the highlights of the week was each class being able to visit and watch baby chicks hatch from eggs. Each class got to spend time with the chicks, helped them feed them food and learnt all about their life cycle. The children really enjoyed having animals in school!
On Friday the whole school took what they had learnt during the week and dressed in a science-inspired outfit. The children enjoyed a whole school catwalk, watch the video to check out our moves!
For science week, members of The Lyceum School community have come together to share the experiences and skills of people who are in a science-based occupation. By sharing their experience, we hope to encourage our children to embrace a passion for science and to explore what types of jobs there are in scientific fields. Here is Stuart Semple who is the Chief Pharmacist at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Thank you to all parents and friends of the community for creating videos to share with our children.
