On Thursday after school, the Year 5 and 6 Eco Refill shop team launched their shop ‘The Eco Depot’!
The purpose of the shop is to encourage the school community to think about reducing single-use plastics in their household. The team sold hand soaps, body wash, washing up liquid and laundry detergent, which were sold in reused plastic bottles. The large 5ml containers that we used in the shop will be sent back to the company to be refilled, ensuring no plastic is being wasted. We will be doing a stocktake before the holidays to see exactly how much we sold, but we can estimate that our shop saved approximately 50 plastic single-use bottles during our opening yesterday.
